NEWSPAPER WOOD... YEP.

Thank you once again, Stumble!  First click of the button today and it brings me to this amazing site, Yatzer.  "Discover a new material: NewspaperWood" read the headline as the page loaded.  The project is by Mieke Meijer who had a vision of reversing the order of production and by doing so, recycling.  This was initially just a student project for Meijer, but four years later it became a full blown reality when he teamed up with Arjan van Raadshooven and Anieke Branderhorst of designlabel Vij5.  I highly recommend you read the whole article on Yatzer, and definitely check out the sites.

Here are some examples from Yatzer.

I really love the idea of this.  I think the treatment, the texture, and the beauty of it are really spectacular.  This just goes to show you we can do amazing things with what is already in existence!

WHAT I MADE

I was Stumbling tonight because I just wasn't sure what to write about.  I have a little arsenal of posting material, but nothing seemed to grab me, really get me excited about what I was going to write tonight.  So, I thought I'd rely on ole' Stumble Upon and after a couple hours (yeah, seriously) of feeling uninspired, I finally found the winner... What I Made.  WIM is a super unique blog done in a crazy illustrated manner that just works!  Scott Bedford, the blog's author, has been drawing all his life and likes to come up with gadgets, drawings, and general craft ideas with amazing illustrated step-by-step instructions.

Scott is also a creative director at a firm Digital Jigsaw and his portfolio can be found here.

I highly suggest popping over to Scott's blog and poking around for a bit.

Do it!!

This is Scott's clever little way of getting people to vote for him. I say, if you like his stuff, head on over to the Webby's homepage and vote for him!
