Ok, I've never understood Westboro Baptist Church's deal with soldiers being killed for the sins of homosexuality, or whatever psychobabble they spout from their ridiculous mouths, and I really don't understand their newest connection to Ryan Dunn's death and the wrath of God.
These people are absolutely effing insane!! They plan to protest "any public memorial/funeral held for Dunn." The article also goes on to say that "Westboro said the protest is to warn people not to mock sin and to fear and obey God." They also said, "This is no prank! In His wrath, God cut off this young man in the prime of his life, because he made a mock of sin, and taught his fellow man to grievously sin against God." That's so disrespectful, and oh, yeah, INSANE. All I can say is I hope Bam Margera decks every single one of them. How disrespectful and terrible is it to even believe such a thing, let alone protest the death of anyone!?
The fact they disrespect the great people of our military who are only doing their jobs and have NOTHING to do with homosexuality (which I'm totally for gay rights and human rights) is absolutely insane, and to think that Ryan Dunn died because God was making an example out of his mockery for sin, is just appalling! I personally loved Ryan Dunn and I love all the Jackass guys, I feel like I've grown up with them. I even met Dunn one time, and he was a nice guy who didn't deserve to die. Sure, he did something stupid, but I defy anyone to say they've never done something stupid. I also defy anyone who has ever taken a drink to say that they've never, at one time in their life, been drinking and driving. Sorry people, but it happens, and even if you've never done it, you should still respect a man and his family and friends in their time of grief.
I personally am not a religious person, I believe in people and the fact that we should be tolerant and loving and accepting. I don't believe that if there is a God (which I fully admit to having no idea whether there is or isn't) that he/she would be anything like these people have twisted the image into. The entire idea of God is a being that loves us, not someone who makes examples out of our mistakes or kills at will because they don't agree with something someone has done. That's ludicrous!! These people have things so skewed and contorted. I just hope that if there is a hell that these people go straight there without any question. Disrupting people's lives and grief over ridiculous accusations of their ignorance is disgusting.
I know they've protested the funerals of several Mississippi soldiers, and I have been so proud of how the people of this state have handled them. They shut them out and have given them no time of day. At one recent funeral an army of 400 some bikers went to protect the grieving against these disgusting excuses for human beings.
All I can say is that I'm glad I'm not a brainwashed psychopath who only wants to indoctrinate people with their insane notions of what the hell any of this is about. People need to stop worrying about the afterlife (which I'm sorry, but none of us have any clue about) and start worrying about their fellow man and how to help them, how to be there for them, and how to accept and love them. If people would do more of that and less of the former, then maybe we'd actually have a more "Christian" society.
Sorry, off the soapbox, and this isn't anything bashing religion. I believe we should all be free to believe what we want, but when it hurts others, it's ridiculous.
R.I.P. Ryan Dunn, you are greatly missed by millions, and that is bigger than anything these crazy people could ever do.
