“Making plans for the future is of use only to people living completely in the present.” - Alan Watts
Here are the Start With Positive designs from the past few weeks. Life has been happening, so I haven't kept up with them as much as I was, but I'm OK with that! Below are the ones I've created and posted recently, please feel free to share these! That's the point, share the positivity and Start With Positive!

Life should be magical. Life IS magical. We’ve been told very conflicting things throughout life.
On one side- Watch this movie, this happy ending, these happy people- WANT THAT.
Other side- Well, this movie is over, get back to your boring existence where you are a cog in the machine. You have a duty… make “US” money, slave!
Then we’re left with a feeling of “I wish life were like a movie."Read More
Let's face it, I haven't always been the most positive person in the world. In fact, I used to be downright negative. I suffered from depression, anxiety, and an overall sense of "who gives a f*@k". Now, at almost 30 years old, I've begun to really change that attitude. Why? Because it is an attitude. I used to buy into the pharmaceutical companies pusher idea of depression medicines, but then I began to learn about energy, positive reinforcement, affirmations, yoga, meditation, and I became a full time vegetarian. What does all of this have to do with one another? It helped me get to the point where I kicked the meds and started living my life. Is it easy? NO. Is it rewarding? YES. Will it work for you? That's up to you. I can't say that anything is a fix all, but now I realize that 99% of my depression was my outlook. I'm not going to go into all the specifics, but to simplify it, you are energy. We are all energy, thoughts are energy, and we have no idea how powerful we really are. We can direct our thoughts towards positive thinking or take the easy route and wallow in self-pity. And yes, self-pity is always the easy route, but it's the bypass to life.Read More
Honoring a beloved person, that brought so many people together through comedic works and artful acting, does not compare to other mass tragedies that are going on in the world at large- and frankly I wish people would stop comparing them. The two are equally tragic in different ways, and one does not supersede the other. Collectively Robin Williams brought joy to the world through his art, and what he must have been suffering within is immeasurable. I have seen suicide up close and personal, and it was one of the most profound life-altering events I have ever experienced. I not only lost a dear friend to a black hole so deep one could never reach the bottom, but I was then left questioning all which comprises life... and death. I myself slipped into a dark depression. The mere shock of losing someone seemly sunny can literally alter your life in a second. I will never truly understand the darkness that compelled my friend to end his life.
I’m acutely aware of the tragedies this world is suffering through today, and has suffered through every day of our existence. This does not mean we can’t stop and remember a beloved, yet tortured soul. The death of my friend was not silenced by other horrid acts occurring in the world, because to me at that time the loss of someone special was my whole world. Whether we like it or not we are united as a whole, and someone loved by many the world over took his life today, and that's sad.
I’m vehemently against war. I am vehemently against hate. I am vehemently against separation. I mourn all those who die on this planet in the name of profit, greed, and hunger for power. I mourn all those who are victim to others, but Robin Williams was a victim to self, and that’s just as important as any other death.
We tend to see the supposed enemies outside, but don’t often understand or even see the enemies within, but we all have them. Some of us can defeat them, and some fall victim to their grips.
I honor all those who passed on to their next life, this day and every day. We’ll all get there by some means or another, but the beauty in it all- it’s never over.
If you or someone you know needs help, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
UPDATE: Russell Brand talking about Robin's death, and it's thought-provoking.
