A mother is quite possibly one of the most wonderful and irreplaceable things in the world. They pick us up when we are down, protect us and prepare us for the world, love us unconditionally, and everything else in between. While a lot of people celebrate their moms every single day, as we should, Mother’s Day just gives us a chance to show them just how much they really mean to us. This year, make Mother’s Day extra special by taking a look at our list of Mother’s Day must-haves and finding the perfect gifts just for her.
The first thing most of us reach for on any special occasion are flowers – and that’s okay! Buying someone flowers is a gesture that will stand the test of time, and it will never go out of style, either. Another mother favorite is chocolate covered strawberries or basically just any chocolate of any kind. You can never go wrong with chocolate. If you’d like to try something a bit new this year, however, why not a ticket to her favorite music artist or Broadway show? It may be a little pricey, but if anyone deserves a splurge like that, it’s mom.
From The Kids
Having toddlers make a Mother’s Day gift is a piece of cake. A handmade card, a clay sculpture, or a macaroni masterpiece usually does the trick – as long as it comes from the heart. The best thing about moms is that they give so much and never ask for anything in return. They will be grateful no matter the gift, even if it’s just a warm hug. Although, this is a great opportunity for the kids to get hands-on and have some fun making a special craft just for their mommy.
Wouldn’t it be great to just give your Mom a personal assistant for Mother’s Day? Well, you actually can! Amazon’s Alexa or a Google Home smart device can prove to be an excellent gift. You can turn off your lights, adjust the temperature, and get an answer to almost any question with just the sound of your voice. After a long day’s work of being a mom, that can definitely come in handy. Another must-have gift could be an updated vacuum that helps the chores go by faster or even a dishwashing machine for those pesky dishes that no one wants to do (win-win). If your budget isn’t that high-end, no problem. Practical gifts such as a cool travel mug or a kitchen multi-tool would also be very appreciated by any mom.
What girl doesn’t like being treated like a princess? From the moment she wakes up to the moment she goes to sleep, make your Mom’s day special by planning a whole day of pampering. A great way to start is with breakfast in bed, followed by things she loves the most. Whether it’s getting a mani/pedi, a massage, a facial, a shopping spree, or all the above, plan and schedule everything ahead of time to make for an effortless Mother’s Day experience.
Gifts Fit For A Queen
If there’s one day that mothers should be treated like queens, it’s Mother’s Day. Spoil them with a few luxurious gifts to really make them feel like top notch royalty. Scented candles, plush slippers, and an elegant silk robe are a perfect way to start. If you can swing it, you can even take them to pick out a pair of earrings from a jewelry store or a brand name perfume. All of the above will certainly make her feel extravagant. Other ideas for luxury gifts are jewelry boxes, silk sheets, a handbag or makeup bag, and anything else your mother might like – each mom is different!
These are just a few gifts and treat ideas to keep in mind when celebrating your beloved mum. Don’t forget, each mom is unique in her own way! Some might like to get pampered, and others might be less high maintenance. Some might love flowers, and others might be allergic! It’s up to you to make your mom’s gifts personal and, most importantly, thoughtful. Whatever you decide to get her on this special day, just remember that sometimes the best present you can give is a phone call to say, “I love you”.
